Ministries

Family Ministries – Director – Pastor Bob Wilson

There are several ministries to our children that come under this heading: Potter’s House Kids – Kidz Choir – Drama Teams – and Puppet Teams. There are summer camps – Night for Learning (NFL) Classes – Heir Force – and Sidewalk Sunday School. We offer clean, safe, and exciting classes for children of various ages up to the teens.  Our vision is to see every child come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to disciple them in that relationship, and to teach them how to live a victorious Christian life.

We believe that God has a purpose and destiny for every child. Our goal is to help our children discover the destiny for their lives by providing them with meaningful opportunities for ministry and service.

Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Our regular classes are held during normal Church services, Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

If you are interested in getting involved in any of these ministries, please see Pastor Bob or call the Church Office.

Ladies Ministries – Director – Tammy Smith
The Ladies Ministry focus includes prayer, Bible study, local and world missions, benevolence, ministry to both young girls and senior adults, fundraising, and social issues that affect women.  Ladies Ministries endeavors to create an atmosphere where women can realize spiritual maturity and fellowship, develop their leadership skills, and minister in the local church, their community and the world. Every woman at The Potter’s House is vital to the fulfilling of our purpose:  To be the willing vessels that God needs us to be in sharing the Good News of the salvation of Jesus Christ our Lord to the lost, hurting, spiritually hungry and dying world.

For more information or to participate in this ministry, see Tammy Smith at the Welcome Center before or after service or contact the Church Office.

Turning Point Ministries – Director – Teresa Salyers

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  Matthew 11:28-30.

There are times in life when we as humans become weary from sufferings and burdens.  Christ knew that life would be difficult.  His Word declares that we should lift one another up and comfort those with the comfort we have received. Turning Point Ministries is here to help those in crisis or pain get through the rough times.  This can be done by professional Christian counseling or by Christian mentoring within the body of Christ.  Both of these focus on healing for the soul through Scripture and prayer. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call the Church Office at 279-2311, Ext. 250.

Visitation – Director – Bobby Smith

The Visitation Ministry is an outreach of The Potter’s House Church of God that takes the compassion and the love of God to people who are unable to attend worship services. Ministry teams will visit people in hospitals and nursing homes, as well as home visits to shut-ins to offer encouragement, support and prayer.  We have a vision that there would be so many people who would have a heart and spirit for this ministry, that no one would go without a visit, without a word of encouragement, or without a loving hug when they need one.

If you would like to volunteer to visit or know of someone that would appreciate a visit, please see Pastor Bobby or call the church at 279-2311, ext. 243.

Destiny Village Ministry – Director – Rick Alford

We believe that this place of hope is just what it’s called, a “Village of Destiny.” We believe that God uses our hands to reach the lives of these children to develop Godly leaders that will affect the future of their respective nations. These children of Haiti and India have many needs. They need God’s love as well as our love, food, financial support, clothing, loving leaders to act as father and mother figures in their lives, shelter, and loving teachers to guide them.  We believe if you “change a child” you “change a nation” and once you change the nation it will “Change the World.”  They need all the same things that you gave your child growing up – You can make a difference. Don’t forget to pray for Destiny Village. To offer your love, prayers, and support toward changing the lives of children in Destiny Village Haiti and India, please see Rick Alford or call the church at 614-279-2311.
